With his club-record 267th goal, Harry Kane gave Spurs the lead in the 15th minute.
Kane's goal was the outcome of a well-planned Spurs pressuring play.

As a result, Cristian Stellini, Conte's assistant manager, had command over Tottenham.
Before the game began, Stellini reaffirmed that Conte had given him complete authority over team selection.
We discussed the team, but because I oversaw training, he left the decision to me, Stellini said to Sky Sports.

Stellini has now started two Tottenham games this season, winning both of them.

Stellini said in a statement to BBC Sport following the victory over City on Sunday: "Absolutely a terrific performance for the whole team and all the personnel.
"We were aware that Antonio was going to miss this week. Everyone pushed themselves to an even greater degree. We are delighted for them, the team, Harry, and Antonio as well.
